  6. My 1989 Jeep weighed just over 3100 lbs and had stopping distance comparable to most midsize sedans, along with suspension that held tight and true where many full size sedans wandered and leaned.

    Not all 4x4s are built the same.

  7. in the states if you want to survive you HAVE to have an SUV because there is a greater chance to be hit by one. And if you are ina normal low car, even an s class, you are going to get it very hard

  9. I owned an ’85 GMC Jimmy (the bigger one) while in college. It had horrible mileage, but it held a lot people, and it was the only vehicle that could handle the downtown streets without losing a hub cab or blowing a tire. Now that I live in the suburbs, where the streets don’t resemble tank traps, I own a car.

    Drive something that fits your needs, not some monster that you think you “need”.

    Sounds like a beast, big 4wd’s are good if you use them for what they’re intended to do like you do.

    But i’m so sick of people driving around fuel guzzling 2 ton 4wd’s that have never been offroad…it’s just unnecessary.

  12. @itsdamo1993 My daily driver is a Ford Taurus. the truck is used to pull and haul stuff, and play in the mud for the most part, oh and plow snow! plus it will drive through 4 feet of standing water!

    Do you have a good car as well or do you chug around in that….4wd’s are so bad on the road.

    A big v8′s power is just wasted because of the weight, they end up as slow as a suzuki swift…they also handle like crap.

    But if you own a farm or something, they are useful

  14. @itsdamo1993 yes! I have a ford f-250 super cab with 8 foot bed, big block engine and 4×4 with 4 inch lift! I feel safe in any accident!!!! and the truck has a long ass wheel base!!!!

  17. I’ve never understood people who don’t work on farms or live in the woods owning these things. To me, someone owning one of these in a town or city is AS retarded as a farmer deciding that the best choice for pulling his horsebox across a muddy field is a SmartCar.

  25. You know if they learned to drive properly in the first place they would already feel confident and safe even in a little car.

    I have been in 3 accidents none of which were my fault… All 3 were cause by women in SUV’s not paying attention AT ALL! Pisses me off because WHY DO THEY PAY LESS FOR INSURANCE? THEY CAUSE MORE ACCIDENTS!!!!
